HGM Ting'ang'a Scouts Qualify for Regional Competitions

The HGM Ting'ang'a Senior School Scouts have done the school proud by qualifying for the Regional Competitions to be held in Kerugoya. The team will be represented by 2 platoons comprising 16 dedicated students who demonstrated exceptional skill, teamwork, and discipline during the qualifying rounds.

Scrabble & Soccer Teams Qualify for County Finals

HGM Ting'ang'a Senior School continues to shine in co-curricular activities. The Scrabble Club and Soccer Team have both qualified for the County Finals to be played at Mang'u High School. This remarkable achievement marks a new chapter in the school's growing reputation in both academic and sports competitions.

Hon. Machua Waithaka, MP Kiambu Town, recently hosted Form 4 students, teachers, and several parents from HGM Ting'ang'a Senior School at Parliament Buildings. The group had the unique opportunity to follow the afternoon sitting from the Speaker's Gallery, witnessing firsthand how debates and legislative processes are conducted in the National Assembly.

Grade 10 learners at HGM Ting'ang'a Senior School took part in a meaningful action research project by planting grass on the school field. Under the guidance of their CSL teacher, Mr. Patrick Mbugua, the students demonstrated exceptional teamwork and collaboration.

The action research project focused on environmental conservation and beautification of the school compound. Students worked in teams, dividing tasks and supporting each other throughout the planting process.

Speaking during the exercise, Mr. Patrick Mbugua emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration, noting that these skills are essential for success both in academics and in life. He encouraged the learners to take ownership of the project and maintain the planted area.

The initiative not only improved the school's aesthetics but also provided students with hands-on experience in environmental stewardship and project management. The grass is expected to flourish, creating a greener and more conducive learning environment.

A proud milestone was achieved as Hon. Machua Waithaka, MP Kiambu Town, visited HGM Ting'ang'a Senior School and DEB Ting'ang'a Secondary School to present the Free Day Secondary School cheques to parents, teachers, and students. A total of KES 1,287,900/= was disbursed to support needy students in the constituency.

As indicated by the area Member of Parliament, no student in any day secondary school within Kiambu Constituency should pay a single shilling in school fees. Education is now truly free, and the bursary initiative aims to ensure every child has access to quality education without financial barriers.

During his address, Hon. Machua Waithaka issued a call to action to parents and the area Chief, urging them to go out, identify every child who has dropped out of school, and bring them back to class. "No child should be left behind," he emphasized.

The event was graced by the dedicated teaching fraternity, led by Principal Mr. Lawrence Mungai of HGM Ting'ang'a Senior School and Principal Mr. Charles Muriithi of DEB Ting'ang'a Secondary School. Also present were Senior Chief Mr. Njihia, parents, and students who made the occasion truly special.

The ceremony was marked by a grand procession as the MP and school principals made their entry into the stadium, led by a marching band. Teachers also took turns introducing themselves to the visiting dignitaries, showcasing the unity and dedication of the school communities.

Together, we are building a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
